*Interview*
I just received an email from a school saying they want me to interview on Thursday for a position as a teacher.

*whew*

I wasn't very confident with my lack of a finalized degree, but it seems like it shouldn't be a problem.

I wonder what they'll ask me? :)

    Greetings Kay.

Thanks for linking to Jakartass; do note that I've given you a mention.

Much of the advice you've been given on Indomie is sound. May I suggest that you buy a copy of Culture Shock-Jakarta - not because I've recently rewritten it but because much of it will be appropriate for Medan (where my wife comes from).

I hope you and Maya have a good time there, and feel free to email me if you need help/advice.

    J

    Hey there,

Good luck with the job. My friend just returned from a trip to Medan and loved it.

The dog issue is a curious one. Generally Muslims consider dogs unclean, but like so often it depends on what group of Muslims you're talking about. While my neighbors in Bali would have a fit if we brought our dogs here, everyone in our village in Sumbawa has dogs both for hunting and protection.

Watch yourself with contracts with National Plus schools, some of them are quite good and others are pretty much money-making ventures.

You can check out a few of my blogs and websites for teachers at cyberbali.com or theinternationlteacher.wordpress.com and welcome to Indonesia.
